We are so proud and honored to represent the Detroit TuesdaysTogether Chapter in submitting to the RTS Styled Shoot Challenge! We had an awesome experience and developed many friendships among local vendors.
We took inspiration from bohemian and mid-century modern designs for our styled shoot. Our goal was to create a delicate balance between wild and organic romance, and geometric, minimalist modernism. A styled bridal shower celebrating a bohemian bride and her friends seemed like a perfect way to implement our design ideas. We chose a neutral color palette of creams, ivory and blush, with warm wooden tones and metallic copper accents. Modernly Events, Pixie Dust Events, and A Touch of Whimsy Events collaborated to pull together the final design and each of the styled elements.
Most of the shoot was completed in a historic industrial building near downtown Farmington, Michigan. The aged brick walls and metal warehouse windows perfectly complemented the tablescape design and lounge set up. Martha of Made Floral created organic and wild yet modern floral arrangements using geometric copper terrariums, bud vases, and the sweetest glass cloche. Vintage and eclectic rentals from Modernly Events and A Touch of Whimsy Events, such as the modern farm table on vintage hairpin legs, and a mix of seating options, created a blend of mid-century modern and bohemian vintage styles. Using the textures and copper accent elements from the shoot as inspiration, Blushed Designs handcrafted invitations, menus and placecards.
With hair and makeup by Bombshell Salon and Emily Hart, wardrobe styling by Bird Bee and Alison Chang Photography, and jewelry from Carolina’s Chloe + Isabel Boutique, our models were styled to bohemian perfection and brought our minimal, modern shoot to life. To truly capture the bohemian spirit of our styled shoot, Alison of Alison Chang Photography took advantage of the gorgeous golden hour light at the local Heritage Park for portraits of the breathtaking bride with her friends in the wild.
