From Brooke Tyson:
I am SO excited to share the gorgeous styled shoot that the Columbia and Ellicott City Tuesdays Together team created last week. Laura Cannon and I spoke in early June after she shared the idea of local creatives coming together for an inspiring shoot featuring many talents, and I was so excited to take the lead creating a theme and bringing a team together. I wanted to create a shoot that showcased Howard County specifically, and something that is important to our county is farms, land, rolling hills, and open fields. Horses are very much a part of the history of Maryland, and driving through Howard County, it is clear just how much horses are a part of the landscape here. Also, I have been a horseback rider since I was eight, so the idea of including horses was something that I thought would be both fun and perfectly matched to our theme!
We called our shoot a Blush and Sage Equestrian inspired shoot, and with a number of interested creatives, such as Angela Papa and Roxy of Behind the Veil Beauty, Molly Knabel of Poppy + Mint Designs, Lea Robinson of Lattice Tree Studios, Jaime Gill of Eikoh Design Studio, Katie Price of Memorable Events and Rentals, Justin Zuber of Last Avalon Films, and myself, of Brooke Tyson Photography, we began planning. Soon after, Alex Nesterak of Alex Nesterak Events, came onboard, and her planning guidance and eye for design was incredible. Alex took our theme and drove it forward with so many great ideas and details; she also contacted additional talented individuals to join our team, such as Donna of Decorated Dreams Cakes, and managed the logistics and all of the décor, and used her eye for detail to add so many beautiful touches. We were so thankful to shoot the first half of our day at Black Ankle Vineyards in Mount Airy, and then the second half of our shoot at lovely Talbot Run Equestrian Center, where Sunshine the horse joined us for some portraits. We are also so fortunate to have Ashley and Tom Alberi as our models; I photographed Ashley and Tom’s Annapolis wedding two years ago, and these two were so excited to be part of our vision!
On the day of our shoot, Angela and Roxy from Behind the Veil Beauty gave Ashley a gorgeous romantic hairstyle and fresh makeup. Meanwhile, Alex and her team styled the shoot and set up so many beautiful, beautiful details, such as the escort card table and the table setting. All of the floral designs and the bouquet were styled by Alex herself, and she also created beautiful settings with all of the furniture from Something Vintage Rentals, décor items from Katie Price Events, and absolutely stunning custom signs from Molly at Poppy + Mint Designs. Lea from Lattice Tree Studios arranged an incredible hand-painted invitation suite that so perfectly captured the theme of our shoot and Jaime from Eikoh Design Studio poured the bubbly into her custom etched wine glasses. Meanwhile, Donna from Decorated Dreamed Cakes displayed her lovely wedding cake (and then kindly sliced and served it to all of us – it was outstanding!). All the while Justin from Last Avalon Films captured video footage of the beautiful details and the bride and groom and I worked alongside my sister and second shooter, Kelsey, to photograph this amazing styled shoot on behalf of my business, Brooke Tyson Photography. Alex kept things moving so smoothly and she had so many beautiful and creative ideas. This was a very fun day that incorporated so many creative individuals and truly showcased a variety of talents from the Columbia and Ellicott City Tuesday Together team.
