NYCÂ TuesdaysTogether is lead by Megan Pena-Ariet & Erin Braun and it serves NYC-based creatives of all varieties. We meet in fun places all over New York City, primarily in Manhattan and Brooklyn. We love talking casually about all topics facing entrepreneurs and creatives following dreams, and also invite members to be “Guest Speakers” on topics related to the RTS Theme of each month. We have LOTS of fun, too!
To NYC Tuesdays Together, it means helping one another reach our dreams, no matter how big they may be. We are such a diverse and unique group with so many talents, but have found time and time again that by combining our expertise in many fields, we can help the whole group rise! It’s truly inspiring to see the talent and amazing hearts in our group at each monthly meet-up. So many friendships and collaborations have been formed and our little network continues to grow in the spirit of helping our members lift one another up.
My favorite moments have included our art supply drive at the holidays. As a group, we collected enough art supplies to donate to 30 at-risk youth at a charter school in Brooklyn, NY. Dropping off the art kits and seeing the faces of the adults in the building is something I will never forget. We amazed people even as early as 6 months in!!
Another favorite moment was our most recent meeting. A new member offered to host the HUGE Manhattan + Brooklyn group at her rooftop in Long Island City. We had an amazing view of the city and a great group of people, old and new. It always inspires us to see old friends and colleagues at each meeting, but to also open up our arms to new members!
Ok one more…we have a group member in Brooklyn who has been SO KIND and has opened her home to us MANY times! We love her so much. We have had yoga night, heartfelt conversations about self-care and mental health, pot luck dinners and countless laughs at “Yari’s place”. It feels like home and we are so thankful.
Also, we usually bring food and drinks to have it be a pot-luck. It makes the event relatively low-key and relaxed. Not having to pay or be too stressed is such a gift on a weeknight, especially for many of our members who work other full-time jobs during the day. So yes, food + silly jokes = success!
